The Alzheimer’s Safe

safeLosing track of all those passwords, pin numbers, account numbers and service names.  I keep mine in a simple Excel spreadsheet.

I have attached a blank copy to this post,  which you can access, modify and use as you wish.  Don’t forget to assign a password to this sheet to keep it from prying eyes.  To assign a password go to File >>- Save As >> Tools >> General Options … then enter a secure password alpha characters and numbers will work.  Then save.

The name “Alzheimer’s Safe” is borrowed from an acquaintance who worked for the United nations in New York.  She had the problem of her staff members forgetting passwords and pin numbers etc.. So she found an old disused safe and had everyone store a signed and sealed envelope containing their personal password’, pins etc..  If an employee needed access, a designated “trusted” staff member would open the “Alzheimer’s Safe”, as it became known, and would deliver the correct envelope to the employee.  This is a simpler “self administering” version that works for me!

Don’t forget the password to the Alzheimer’s Safe!!!

Now if you only had a safe place to save that….
