- story inspired by Henry – aged almost seven.

Henry, the little red monkey, went to Mr Jones’ farm to visit his friends, Bananas and George. He brought a giant lollipop with him and showed it to George when they were playing in the barnyard.

“Let me have a lick Henry”, George said.  “No, me first” said Henry and he took a big lick then tried to bite off a piece. “Mm oh, Mm NO!” said Henry. “Mm I mm am, mm stuck” he said.  “Mm my  mm teeth mm are mm sstuck”.  George rolled about laughing and said “”I will help you”.  So he took hold of the lollipop and pulled hard.  It wouldn’t come loose from Henry’s teeth.  “OK”, said George, “I will bite it at one end and pull the other really hard”.   “Mm oh mm oh, mm now mm I mm am mm stuck” said George and they ran off, both stuck together, to find Bananas.

Bananas was in the orchard tending the bee hives.  He could not stop laughing.  “Just look at you two”, he chuckled, “You are going to have to be really good chums today! Come here, I’ll get you off that lollipop.”  He pulled and he tugged and tried ever so hard to get them free.  But it seems they were stuck forever!  Bananas had a great idea, “I will bite it in the middle so hard that it breaks into pieces.  You may be stuck to the pieces that are left but you will be free from each other.  Then you can sit on that fence over there and lick the lollipop away!”  “Mm that mm sounds mm like mm a mm good mm idea” said George.  

So Bananas took a big bite. “Mm oh, Mm NO! mm it m didn’t mm break!” said Bananas.  They sat down next to the bee hives, all stuck together, to think what to do next. While they sat there, the bees began to take notice of the sweet, tasty lollipop.  “Mm oh, Mm oh”, said Bananas,” Mm the mm bees mm are mm coming!” He picked up George under his arm and put Henry on his shoulder and  they ran down the field to the pond, all stuck together by the lollipop. The bees came swarming after them to get a taste of the lollipop so Bananas jumped into the pond.  The icy cold pond! Bananas, George and Henry screamed all together,”Ahhhhhh! It’s COLD!!” Their teeth had all come loose from the lollipop!!!

They climbed out of the pond leaving the bits of lollipop floating in the water all covered in bees.  They sat on the banks laughing.  “Wasn’t that a good adventure George!” said Henry.
