A lighthearted look at grandparenting and retirement

Grandparents Relax

Alvor 2009 026  After several hectic weeks decorating our home and our son’s home we really looked forward to a restful two weeks in the Algarve.  By shear chance we booked into a hotel near the quiet fishing village of Alvor.  It truly was very relaxing and restful, right on the long, wide beach.  We took frequent strolls into the village and along the beach with a few refreshment stops!  One of the jewels of our stay was the local boating firm “Alvor Boat Trips“.

Alvor 2009 275 The Alvor Boats are captained by Luis, a local Portuguese native, and the shore side is managed by Róisin his lovely Irish partner. We had two fun days on their solar powered boat, the Alvor Flor do Sol, one day visiting Silves on a cruise up river from Portimão and the second across the bay from Alvor to skirt the coastline and caves around Lagos.   Their motley crew! >>>

  1. Thanks for the kind words and it is meeting fine people like yourselves that make our job such a pleasure.
Glad you had good time and we look forward to see you again soon in Alvor.
    Regards Roisin & Luis
